Lynn’s Bracelet

Not all the beads we make are for memorial gifts. In Lynn’s case, she had found us through the internet – only to find out we were both living in the very same city! Lynn had ordered a memorial bracelet in remembrance of a beloved pet. And then after receiving her bracelet, she liked it so much, she asked if we could make something for her sister as a birthday gift.
Lynn grows beautiful Star Gazer Lilies in her yard. She brought me one to make the beads with. It was gorgeous – a dark pink blossom that had to be 10 inches across. It’s heady fragrance filled my studio for a week as the blossom dried. It was heavenly.
The bracelet for Lynn’s sister was to be something special, with sentimental meaning. The flower from Lynn’s garden, and a shell to represent her love for the Hawaiian Islands. I didn’t really know what colors I was going to use, or what shell. But as the bracelet started taking shape and scope, things connected. I had alot of shells to choose from, but this one piece of scrabbly abalone really called out to me as the focal point. It was only then that I realized the colors I had chosen for the beads matched the colors in the abalone. How about that. It was perfect.
If you’d like to order a bracelet in Lynn’s style, you can order one from our Memorial Beads Shop.
